Tigers fall in fourth straight State Semifinal, third to Randolph
The Tioga Tigers may be the cream of the crop in Class D Football in Section IV, but there's something about playing in Rochester that seems to derail an otherwise great season. The Tigers fell to Randolph Friday night 20-8, recording a safety in the first half and a touchdown in the second for the only offensive output. It's the fourth straight year that Tioga has made it to, but failed to get past the semifinal round, and the third straight year that Randolph has put an end to Tioga's season. Good news for Randolph though, that each of the last two year's the Cardinals have beaten Tioga one week before winning a state title.
Understandably the Tigers are upset at calling it an early end to the season, but Head Coach Nick Aiello said after the loss that in a few days he'll be able to look back on the season and take it for all of it's spectacular accomplishments rather than just Friday's defeat.
