Blue Devils playing with targets on their backs

Last year the Chenango Forks Blue Devils were the ones looking to make a statement by making it to the Carrier Dome and taking home a state title.  Now, as the defending state champion, they're the ones being hunted down by the rest of the state.  They know that last year took a lot of effort to get over the top and into the State Finals, but this year they know it's going to take even more effort because as hard as it is to win a state title, it's even harder to repeat.  At the same time, they're still two games away from the Dome having to get through regionals first.  Head Coach Dave Hogan says the approach in states is the same as it's been all year: "one game at a time."

Chenango Forks kicks off Saturday at noon against Utica Notre Dame at Cicero-North Syracuse.
