M-E's Coach Gallagher named MAX Preps Coach of the Year

One of his sons was named new york state class b player of the year last year, another took home that award this year, and today it's his turn.

Maine-Endwell's head coach Matt Gallagher has been named MaxPreps small school coach of the year. Maxpreps designates small schools as those that play in state enrollment divisions of less than 1,000 students.

Gallagher's spartans set a new york state record with four straight state titles and have won 51 straight games. that ties a new york state record and entering the 2015 season is the third longest active win streak in the country.

Class AA, A All-State selections announced

While one could say Section IV cleaned up in the All-State selections in Classes B, C, and D, the selections for Classes AA and A are a little slimmer.

Elmira's Jerry McPeak and Allah Sessions were named to the AA Fourth Team Offense and Fourth Team Defense respectively.  Corning's Gabe Enicks named to the Fifth Team Defense.  Making AA Honorable Mentions, Binghamton Offensive End Bryan Morrison, Elmira Lineman Dom Clark, and Corning Lineman Bobby Shepard.

In Class A, only U-E Defensive Back Heze Morgan earns an Honorable Mention.

Gallagher, Bronson headline All-State Selections

For the second straight year the NYS Class B Player of the Year comes from Maine-Endwell and the Class C Player of the Year comes from Chenango Forks.  Last year, it was M-E's Kyle Gallagher and Forks Isaiah Zimmer, this year it's M-E's Adam Gallagher and Forks Ryan Bronson.  Both Adam Gallagher and Bronson led their teams to yet another state title, M-E's (and Gallagher's) fourth straight, Forks fourth ever and second straight.  Section IV not only took home two player of the year awards, but was well represented in the rest of All-State Selections.
