Spartans, Blue Devils remain atop final regular season state poll

Approaching Week 8 of the regular season, some things never change.  Of course, I'm talking about the state rankings in regard to a few select Section IV Football teams.  Maine-Endwell, Chenango Forks, and Tioga all head into the last week of the season in the state rankings right where they started and stayed.  Spartans - 1st in Class B, Blue Devils - 1st in Class C, Tigers - 3rd in Class D.

In all, nine teams from the section are ranked in the state, with four more receiving honorable mentions:

Class AA: Elmira (24), Corning (HM)

Class B: Maine-Endwell (1), Susquehanna Valley (19)

Class C: Chenango Forks (1), Lansing (17), Newark Valley (HM), Watkings Glen (HM), Waverly (HM)

Class D: Tioga (3), Walton (4), Unatego (7), Deposit/Hancock (17)
